Apple Brie Burger - The Pop Shop : Collingswood, NJ
I went to The Pop Shop for dinner last Sunday with my boyfriend. The restaurant is pretty well known, and has been seen on The Food Network! Likethe name suggests, it’s a retro-styled restaurant that has a soda-shop bar.
I was in the mood for a burger, I usually get a bacon cheese burger, but today I got something a little different. The apple and brie burger comes on ciabatta, and includes apples, brie, baby spinach leaves, and Dijon mustard.
The burger definitely looked good, and had tons of brie.(Also it came with fries!)
I really liked that the apples were ripe and crisp. I hate when restaurants use unripe produce for their meals. The cheese was melty and dripped off of the burger as I ate! The only trouble I had eating the burger was the apples. They were cut a little to thick and as I ate the burger they slipped out and fell into the basket (or my lap) If they were a bit thinner they might have stayed in place.
The fries have the skins still visible, which I love! I also liked that they were topped with a course salt.It was more of a flaked salt than granulated, and I could see how much salty-goodness was on each fry.
For dessert, I got the cupcake milkshake. That’s right! Cupcake milkshake! It has an actual cupcake blended up into the shake, cupcake syrup, whipped cream and sprinkles. It is topped with the icing cap from the blended up cupcake.
Visually, it was adorable! A nice vanilla shake with a big swirl of icing on top.
I drank the whole shake and started eating the icing cap, but it was REALLY sweet and I couldn’t eat the whole thing. The icing was a rich butter cream that was very stiff, most likely from being immersed in a milk shake, but it was extremely sweet! Like eating a puck of sugar.
I loved the burger and fries, but the shake was a one time thing. Next time I’ll try the salted caramel shake they have instead! (Or the bacon one.)

Meiji Chocolate Bar with Strawberry Marshmallow filling (Review)
I LOVE this package. I think it is insanely cute and alluring. I couldn’t help but pick it up.
I opened up the package and even the bag inside is adorable (and it keep the chocolate very fresh!) The bar smells like milky chocolate with a hint of artificial strawberry and a tangyness I can’t quite place. Somewhat like plain unflavored yogurt….
The chocolate melts instantly on your tongue, the yogurty tang seems to come from the chocolate itself and not the strawberries. The strawberry marshmallows are extremely artificial. It tastes the way those sickening fruity kiddy perfumes smell. Ick.
Taste-wise this chocolate bar isn’t that great, and I wouldn’t buy it again…but I ADORE this packaging. I might buy it again just to have the box forever. But I’m weird like that…
